Dr. Pardon Chabvutagondo

Dr Pardon graduated from the University of Zimbabwe in 2013 and is registered with both the Council of Veterinary Surgeons of Zimbabwe and the South African Veterinary Council (SAVC).
Following graduation, he joined the Irvine’s Group in 2014 as part of their intensive graduate trainee programme within one of Africa’s leading fully integrated poultry enterprises. During this time, he gained extensive exposure across the poultry production chain, including Grandparent and Parent stock operations, broilers, breeder hatcheries, commercial hatcheries, feed mills, processing plants, commercial layer systems, and veterinary laboratory work.
In 2015, Dr Pardon was appointed Broiler Department Manager, where he excelled before being promoted to Breeder Manager. In this role, he managed the Broiler Grandparent Farm and Breeder Hatchery responsible for exporting day-old parent stock throughout sub-Saharan Africa.

In 2017, he joined Sable Chickens, then Zimbabwe’s second-largest producer of frozen chicken products. As the company’s first internal veterinarian, he established and developed the veterinary division from the ground up. During the same year, he successfully completed and passed his South African Veterinary Council registration examinations.
Dr Pardon relocated to South Africa in 2018, where he completed his compulsory community service in the Eastern Cape. Since then, he has worked across multiple sectors of the veterinary profession in five provinces throughout South Africa, gaining broad industry experience and practical field expertise.

He is an active member of both the World Poultry Veterinary Association and the South African Veterinary Association (SAVA) Poultry Group.
Dr Pardon’s passion for poultry farming began long before his professional veterinary career.
“I went to a very good boarding school, and my father, earning a Prison Warden’s salary, simply could not afford the fees. Animal husbandry — particularly poultry farming — became our saving grace. It was hard work with very low margins, and losing even a single chick meant a great deal to us.
That experience is why I remain deeply committed to helping farmers of every scale. I approach every farm visit with the same passion and dedication, striving to serve wholeheartedly, earn trust, and build lifelong relationships along the way.”
We are excited to have Dr Pardon join the C4 Africa team and look forward to the value, expertise, and passion he brings to our clients and the broader agricultural industry.
